AppRiver Offers Free Emergency Services to Businesses in Harm's Way

Teresa Zwierzchowski

Bad weather can create a perfect storm for businesses. With Tropical Storm Nate making its way toward the Northern Gulf Coast, AppRiver has activated its free Digital Disaster Preparedness Service (DDPS).

First made available in 2005, DDPS is a service designed to prevent businesses from losing email in the event of an email server outage. It is offered at no charge to organizations facing imminent natural disasters such as a hurricane or flooding.

"We’ve been through severe hurricanes before and they are dangerous, stressful events,” said Michael Murdoch, CEO and president at Florida-based AppRiver. “During a natural disaster, business owners should focus on making sure their families are safe — not fretting about lost email that can lead to lost business. Providing our Digital Disaster Preparedness Service to businesses this hurricane season will help them return to normal as soon as possible — and hopefully give them one less thing to worry about during a stressful time.”
